Wine 3.0 brings the ability to run Windows apps on Android mobiles
Wine is a software which was developed by CodeWeavers allows Unix and linux based operating system to run Windows applications. Company is said to have released Wine 3.0 as application for Android operating system which will do the same. Feature of Android was made in beta for long time and now stable app version by the company on official website.
the company had released a tech preview of their crossover app for Android to a select group of people. On this 2017, the company is said to have been ahead and launched Wine 2.0 which came with improved Mac compatibility and Microsoft Office support. And now this comes with the public build in the form of Wine 3.0.
In order to install the Wine 3.0 app on your mobile, you will need to follow the following steps:
- Download ‘wine-3.0-arm’ or ‘wine-3.0-x86’ from https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/android/
- Transfer the APK of the app onto your smartphone.
- Set install APKs from non-trusted sources to OK under settings
When the app is installed on to your smartphone, which will provide full screen. Windows display including supports for graphics and audio. Because of Wine 3.0 have a compatibility layer, it doesn’t fully support a few apps for the ARM processors which has a lists of compatible apps can be found on XDA Developers official forum.
