Two days bank strike from 30th May
Government Bank Employees decided to move on 48 hours from 6am May 30 to till 6am, June 1st. Strike was the result of Indian Banks Association (IBA) not fulfilling the demands requested by Government Bank Employees. Governor of Ludhiana unit of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) ), Naresh Gaur stated to have confirmed about this strike on Wednesday and about the massive demonstrations of the demands they requested, happening outside SBI, Fountain Chowk.
As per the President of Punjab Bank Employees Federation (Ludhiana), the strike was not avoidable as the demands are more pending for further verification and processing to approval. IBA delaying at the events of considering at the welfare of the bank employees at the depriving all the rights. Wage revision is said to the main demands only for 2 percent increase that was granted by IBA. Opposing at the minimal increase and further revision Bank employees decided against regular operation of banks for two days strike.
