Transport employees strike on 5th April 2018

A protests are being organized throughout Tamil Nadu state insisting on Cauvery Management Board. DMK and its associated parties are said to have called for a general strike today on 5th April, Thursday.
At this situation, state transport employees unions have also announced that buses may not run tomorrow. After a consultation meeting held among the transport employees union at the “Pallavan Illam”, the above decision to call a strike has been taken.
The different trade unions participating at the strike include the Labour Progressive Federation (DMK) and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CPM), Thus it might be expected at most buses which will not operate from today. Even the sand lorry owners which have offered their support for this strike.
Warning to employees:
As Department of Transport is public service oriented, Transport Corporation Senior officials which have issued a warning that all government transport employees but must not participate at this strike. They must attend duty. Stringent departmental action which will be taken on those who fail to attend duty.
