Tomato price increased

Number of truckload of tomato arriving at Chennai Koyambedu wholesale vegetable market is said to have reduced, tomato price has increased up to Rs 25 per kg.

Tomato is dispatched from neighboring border areas of neighboring states of Andhra and Karnataka. As tomatoes quantity arriving at Koyambedu has reduced, tomato which was sold at Rs 15 per kg last week is now sold at Rs 25 at yesterday on 8th July, Sunday.

The prices of other vegetables in Rs. per kg:

Onion – 18, Sambar (small) onion – 55, brinjal – 15, potato – 21, broad beans – 17, Okra (Lady’s finger) – 20, radish – 15, bitter gourd – 45, beans – 50, cabbage – 8, and carrot – 22.
