Sales timings changed in petrol bunks from tomorrow (5th November)

There are about 4750 petrol bunks in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. On average,each petrol bunk sells about 1.70 Lakh litres of petrol every month.

Owners of petrol bunks are been demanding an increase of commission from Oil Corporations. Hence petrol bunk owners announced several stages of protest and demonstrate against Oil Corporations. Last month, petrol bunks were remained closed between 7.00 PM and the next morning 7.15 AM.From yesterday (Thursday, 3rd November), they have stopped procurement of petrol and diesel.
At this issue, president of Tamil Nadu Petroleum Dealers Federation Mr. Murali explained:
Discussion regarding the dealer commission with Oil Corporations are scheduled in Mumbai today (Friday, 4th November). Oil Corporations do not accept the demand for increase in commission there will be a protest by closing petrol bunks for long duration. Petrol bunks may operate between 9 am and 6 pm. Weekend holidays is said to be given to petrol bunks as practiced in banks.
