POS machines at 70 suburban stations in Chennai
With impact from 1st January 2017, Service of Railways has given a discount of 0.5% to season tickets being obtained through POS machines over rural sections. This will be helpful to the travelers who buy quarterly, half yearly and yearly season tickets. POS machines have been given at all the 70 rural stations for the accommodation of Public.
As coordinated by the Service of Railways, Southern Railway has introduced extra PoS (Point of Sales) machines in 22 of its Traveler Reservation Centres spread over Kerala and Tamil Nadu. These 22 centres which have the most astounding number of PRS transactions, now offer the office of cashless payment while buying reservation tickets.
28 machines were at that point being used at 22 areas. Presently, moreover, 40 more machines have been added to these 22 areas. Aside from these 22 areas, All 70 rural stations in Chennai Rural system have been furnished with POS machines. This makes it 138 machines in 92 stations in Southern Railway.
