Plastic ban in Tamil Nadu to be an issue for the single screen theatres

From 1st January 2019 onwards in Tamil Nadu, usage of plastic was been banned. its now revealed that single screen film exhibitors or theatres are finding out to difficult to cope up with plastic ban. These single screen theatres in TN which have been depending on plastics for wrapping food and beverages and packaging. Amazing piece of news is the multiplexes which have adapted to plastic ban better than single screen theatres. Main issue is about replacing up plastic coated paper cups used for hot beverages etc.

Its worth mention that state of Tamil Nadu has got about 1127 operating public screens and out as many as 407 are complexes or multiplexes. There are more than 6.14 lakh seats are present at theatres in Tamil Nadu. Managing director of popular multiplex, Mayajaal, Mr. Udeep praised the state government and stated that plastics ban which has been good initiative by state government. He then shed up light how his multiplex is said to have switched to paper cups from December and how wooden plates and spoons were said to be used. It noted that area leaf plates and cups are also used in Mayajaal. 25% people who come to Mayajaal take snacks at the counter.
