Overall Tamil Nadu bandh on 5th April 2018
Tamil Nadu bandh called by DMK and many other opposition parties are to protest against the Center’s failure to set up a Cauvery management board is to affect normal life in the state on Thursday.
Almost all sections of society–farmers, students, lawyers, trader union, film associations, milk distributors and others have announced that their support are from dawn to dusk bandh. Tamil Nadu government bus services will also be affected as main trade unions have decided to participate in the bandh.
Delta districts farmers have decided to block trains in various areas. Workers of various parties will block main roads. DMK and opposition parties in the state demand that the Centre constitute Cauvery management board immediately as per Supreme Court order. DMK has convened in all party meeting on Thursday to discuss on next step on to this issue.
Past few days, Tamil Nadu was been witnessing widespread protests against the Centre’s failure to set up CMB. Opposition parties allege that Tamil Nadu has been failed to expert pressure on central government constitute the CMB.
A wide bandh by opposition parties led by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Thursday, vehicles specially buses from Tamil Nadu stopped its services at Hosur in Krishnagiri district on Wednesday midnight around 1am. Similarly, buses which was already reached across Karnataka including Bangalore asked to return to Hosur on or before 4 am on early Thursday morning.
