MTC bus to operate 480 special buses for Kaanum pongal
On Thursday, 17th January 2018 is Kaanum Pongal day and its time for enjoyment for people who belong to the state of Tamil Nadu. Many people go places such as Marina Beach, Vandalur Zoo, Besant Nagar Beach, MGM, Guindy Children’s Park and more to be happy with their family and friends. For benefit of people to accommodate the extra rush for this special occasion or Metropolitan Transport Corporation will be operating as many as 480 special buses in Chennai city.
As per an official release it is clear that the special buses of MTC is said to be connecting at various bus terminals with famous tourist spots such Vandalur Zoo, Anna Square, Mamallapuram, Besant Nagar plus other places like Kishkinta, MGM, VGP golden beach etc. Special bus board on them would be charged in 3 categories of express, deluxe and ordinary.
In the last 5 days a total of 7.17 lakh passengers is said to have used special buses operated from Chennai to various districts in TN. This must be noted that as many as 1.8 lakh passengers is said to have booked their tickets in advance and the state transport department got an amount of Rs 9.01 crores. For the journey return of passengers about 11000 buses to be operated from various districts to Chennai between 17th of January to 20th of January. Important point is more than 250 feeder services is said to be operated in present operational fleet of buses. This will hep passengers to reach places in Chennai without any disputes.
