LKG and UKG classes to be introduced at government schools

To encourage learning system through English language, LKG and UKG classes are set to be introduced at all the government schools from 21st January.

English and Hindi are priority status to be as learning medium at several states. At Tamil Nadu, there are only few government schools offering English medium learning.
Most of the parents admit their kids in LKG and UKG classes at private schools with provision to learn in English Medium. At this situation, important objectives of increasing up the number of students at government schools and encourage learning through English medium, LKG and UKG classes are introduced at all government schools.
These classes are said to be already introduced at some of the model government schools. Subsequently, activities have been initiated to introduce LKG and UKG classes at all other government primary schools. Thus, LKG and UKG classes are set to introduce in 2000 anganwadis throughout state of Tamil Nadu who are located near primary schools. About 59000 students can now learn at these schools.
The female teachers presently working at government primary schools will visit the anganwadis and take 2-hours classes for LKG/UKG students admitted at anganwadis. This plan will start on 21st January.
