Stenographers Job Openings in Central Government

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts examinations for filling up the vacancies for the various posts in Group C and Group D in the different ministries and departments of the central government.
In this system, SSC is scheduled to conduct a written examination on 31st July for the vacancies of posts for Stenographers (Grade C and Grade D) in the different ministries, the departments and some of the public sector undertakings. The number of vacancies is till to be decided.
Name of the examination: Stenographer – Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’
Age Limit: As on 1st  August 2016, the candidates should be in the age group 18-27.
A concession on the age limit for 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for differently-ables persons.
Academic Qualifications: The candidates must have passed +2 and a course on shorthand and typing.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on the performance in the written test and shorthand test. In the written test, there will be 200 objective questions in 3 segments – General knowledge, reasoning, and English language. Wrong answers will carry minus marks. 1 Mark will be deducted for every 4 wrong answers. The candidates passing this written test will be called for the shorthand test (skill test).
A pass in the shorthand test is sufficient. The final appointment, allocation of the department, etc will be done based on the performance in the written test.

Applications must be sent online through the internet.
Women, SC?ST candidates, differently-abled persons and ex-army personnel need not pay the application fee.
Application procedure: Eligible candidates with the required qualifications, skill and the age-limit should apply online. After applying online, take a printout and attach all the requisite proofs (attested) of documents and send by post.
