How to make Poha sweet pongal
- Poha / Flattened Rice – 1 cup
- Split Yellow Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu – ¼ cup
- Jaggery – 1 cup grated
- Milk – 1 cup
- Ghee – 2 tblsp + 2 tsp
- Water – 1.5 cup
- Cashews – 3 tblsp
- Kishmish – 3 tblsp
- Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
Take one tbsp ghee into a pan, add washed moong dal and roast for a min.
Add water and bring them to boil. Simmer and cook until it’s done. Set aside.
Now into a separate pan, heat about 1 tbsp ghee and roast poha for few mins. Add 1.5 cups water and cook until poha is done.
Add moong dal, milk, jaggery and combine well.
Cook everything together until its thick.
Add cardamom powder and combine well.
Roast cashews and raisins in 2 tbsp ghee until golden. Add them to pongal and combine well.
