How to prepare dried fish curry

Ingredients

  • Dried fish – 100g
  • Shallots– ¼ cup
  • Garlic – 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper – ¼ tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds – ½ tsp
  • Chili powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – ¾ tsp
  • Thick tamarind paste – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – A pinch
  • Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
  • Oil – 1 tblsp
  • Salt – As reqd

Method:

  • Pour oil in a heated pan and fenugreek seeds, shallots, black pepper and garlic. Fry all of them for 2 mins and drain the oil from it and keep it aside. When it gets cool, grind the ingredients to a fine paste
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder in the same oil and sauté in low flame until the oil separates.
  • Now add the ground paste. Mix it well and add tamarind paste and one cup of water to it , when you bring it to boil add dry fish and Cook it by  covering it in low flame till the gravy thickens. Garnish with curry leaves.
  • Tasty, Yummy and spicy dry fish is ready
