How to prepare Ada Pradhaman


  • 1 packet Rice Ada
  • 500 gms Jaggery
  • 2 cups Coconut Milk
  •  6 to 7 cups Diluted Coconut Milk
  • 1 tsp Dried ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
  • A pinch of Salt 

For garnishing

  • 3 to 4 tbsp of Ghee
  • Handful of Cashew nut pieces and coconut slices(small pieces)


  • Boil big pit water. Add rice ada to cook until its done fine
  • Drain the excess water and pour cold water over ada in order to prevent it in sticking together. Keep it separate
  • Take a heavy pan and melt jiggery in little water
  • After jiggery melts, strain it with strainer and remove any kind of impurities from it. Return it back to the heavy bottomed pan once again
  • Add cooked ada, diluted coconut milk and jaggery to it and Boil it
  • Heat the ghee in a separate pan and fry cashew nut and coconut pieces fry it until it gets brown in color
  • Finally add half fried cashews and coconut pieces along with the ghee, cardamom powder, ginger powder, salt and the thick coconut milk to the payasam. 
  • Mix everything and switch off and Serve it
