High Court’s order on Arvind Swamys case
Income Tax department had sent notice to a private Bank to hold an amount of 96 Lakhs 41 thousand ruppes from actor Arvind Swamy’s account as advance tax for the year 2018-19 and has directed him to pay the amount immediately. “Thani Oruvan” star immediately sought intervention from Madras High Court stated that the attempt to transfer the money was arbitrary as he had already paid the necessary amount as advance tax and requested the IT department notice to be quashed.
The Madras High Court ordered the IT department not to proceed against Arvind Swamy at the matter until the issues are resolved.
