Flip kart VP-Product Saran Chatterjee to quit
Saran Chatterjee flipkart’s vice president has a three year stint at the company. Flip kart has already confirmed with the departure to ET. In 2012, Chatterjee who joined in Flip kart was the leading e-commerce major’s product management and design related to consumer experience who always involved in building out flip kart’s new advertising business which is specifically indicated in LinkedIn profile. Before Flip kart, Chatterjee was with Yahoo for about six years ago in various roles as for global product management, business management & operations director among others
This resignation comes at a time when Flip kart is splurging heavily to rope in talent from global firms like Google and Yahoo to aggressively build a technology capability that can rival Amazon in the country.
In March, it had roped in two senior Google execs Punit Soni and Peeyush Ranjan for $5-6 million annual packages and former McKinsey director Saikiran Krishnamurthy for a similar pay package, as per company sources familiar with their compensation. Former Yahoo India R&D head Hari Vasudev had also joined Flipkart as Senior Vice President- Engineering, IT & Analytics for its Supply Chain vertical in April this year.
With Soni and Ranjan leading Flipkart’s product & engineering efforts and aiming to create a Google-like culture at India’s largest e-commerce platform, we wonder whether there would be more exits at the company in the forthcoming future.
