What is dengue?

Dengue is one of the viral fever spread through Aedes Aegypti – a variety of mosquito bites. This is so caused by type-1, type-2, type-3 and type-4 virus. Breeding ground of mosquitoes have got a lifespan of just 2 weeks. At this short time, these breed thrice will produce a hundred of eggs.

These eggs are said to be healthy and find a dry place to survive, it will hatch its chicks on good water. If dengue virus is present in these eggs, then chicks will also get the virus. Aedes Aegypti bites only during day time. Its an important one to stay away from mosquitoe bites during day time also.

Prevention tips for Dengue

  • Best vital role is to stay your surroundings clean. We should make sure that sewage to be properly closed but to ensure that good water to be used in our home properly by keeping it closed with a proper lid.

  • The overhead tank must be kept closed

  • Cups, caps and plates found lying on terrace backyard are to be disposed in order to ensure that they dont store up water inside

  • Mosquito repellent spray to be used whereever its needed

Symptoms of Dengue:

  • Headache

  • Eye strain and pain

  • General body pain (muscle pain and knee pain)

  • Fatigue

  • Dysentery

  • Itching behind knee or all over the body

  • Loss of appetite

  • Infection in throat

  • Mild bleeding from gums, nose

  • Excessive menstrual bleeding

  • Blood in urine

  • Petechiae

Treatment:

There is not any exclusive treatment for dengue. Paracetamol tablets are given during the first two days after knowing dengue. If the fever didnt get reduced its advisable to consult a doctor.

For dengue, antibiotics should not be taken. Painkillers should also not be consumed. Consuming liquid diet often is recommended.
