CCTV cameras installed by Chrompet residents
Many crimes are taken place in Chennai. Chennai police are onto a mission to set up to CCTV cameras for every 50 meters in city of Chennai in order to prevent these crimes. Latest news is Chrompet residents have installed as many as 28 CCTV cameras at their locality to keep eye over their streets. It’s worth mentioned here that members belonging to VPG Residents Association of East Radha Nagar, Chromepet to have pooled at money of contributions ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 5000 and have installed 28 CCTV cameras at cost of Rs 2.40 lakhs.
At various points in Chrompet locality, association represents around 300 households are installed these CCTV cameras with night vision. This was attracted attention of many now. some streets at Chrompet where the CCTV cameras at present are Venkateswara Street(cross street and extension), Vivekananda Street( cross street and extension), Dhandapani street, Pazhaniandavar Street, part of Ganapathypuram main road etc. Important piece of information is area which doesn’t witness any major crime as per residents at very clear that CCTV cameras to act as further deterrent.
At the event of any crime, footage is said to be provided to police to solve this issue. Pallavaram MLA. Mr.E. Karunanidhi, made his presence felt by installing CCTV cameras at the locality and in addition to this also contributed an amount of Rs 20,000. The secretary of federation of associations, Pallavapuram, Mr. Murugaiyan also took part.
