Cable TV charges come down for Rs.130


Decrease in Cable TV charges

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) orders, that the monthly cable TV services charges were fixed at Rs. 130 per month. Presently, most of the places in India monthly cable  TV charges remain at Rs. 200 to Rs. 250 Per month. The company Cory Star submitted a notification to the supreme court seeking the ban on the monthly Rs. 130/- charges and a ban was imposed. However, the supreme court removed the ban. 

Central Government of India recommended to the cable TV services must provider total 100 channels at Rs. 130/- per month. TRAI ordered for the customer who seeking additional channels, the service provider may charge Rs. 20 for adding more 25 channels.

A TRAI informed that this order may takes 3 to 4 months to implement. There must be no difference in monthly charges from one place to another.
