Buses and trains operate in Chennai with police protection
Buses are said to be operated at Chennai on today on 25th May with police protection. Over 20000 police staff has been deployed for protection.
At the police shooting against public who have protested against Sterile in Thoothukudi about 13 persons have died. Several others were injured seriously.
Strongly protesting done against by various political parties, students, Tamil enthusiasts and others are joining together.
At this scenario, the opposition party (DMK) leader and the working president Stalin was been invited for a full-scale protest today (Friday, 25th May) against the shooting and for the ruling AIADMK to resign. It’s said that buses and trains were operated as usual at Chennai.
Fewer number of buses are been operated at many other districts at the state. AS for shops except for few shops, many other shops remained closed.
As the union members of the transport employees’ unions of opposition parties didn’t attend duty, the representatives of the ruling party union members operated at the buses. At a similar trend through member of Employees; Progressive Union and CITU auto drivers were on strike as a protest and many auto drivers which are not belonging to unions which were operating at their autos.
Shops were open at Koyambedu market, T Nagar, Parry’s Corner, and other important urban parts of the city. Only few shops were closed. The hotels, tea shops, grocery shops, cell phone shops, and the petrol bunks were fully opened.
Police staffs were assembled at many important locations of Chennai Metro city. Additional police were deployed at areas such as the Chief Secretariat, DGP’s office, Marina beach, railway stations, and bus depots.
Police staffs were deployed at the roads and streets of commercial centres and shops. Over 20000 police staff which was been deployed. Due to the public strike, the day-to-day activities of the public which was not been disturbed to a great extent. The trains operated as usual.
