Bank employees unions plan to go on strike
Bank employees union is said to have decided to go strike at this month end if proper upward revision of salary is not implemented and announced.
At this regard, the general secretary of the All India Bank Employees’ Federation, Venkatachalam stated:
Wage revision contract for bank employees expired on October 2017. As per new wage revision that should have been announced and implemented at November 2017. We had several rounds of discussions with bank administration. Central government and central finance ministry ordered banks to find best solution and announce up wage revision as possible.
Bank administration citing huge unrecovered loans is said to have decided to announce 2% on upward revision at the salaries. We have rejected at this proposal. Only central government and bank administration is said to have responsible for unrecovered loans. Its not proper to pass this burden to bank employee. Otherwise, we had decided to go on a 48 hours strike at this month end.
